Lust Loathing and a Little Lip Gloss

Lust, Loathing, and a Little Lip Gloss is another great book in the Sophie Katz series. I loved this one just as much as the others, Sophie is back with her stellar sleuth skills and quick wit that makes you laugh out loud while reading. Many times while reading this book I got the “is that lady crazy look” for busting out laughing in public. Anatoly is sexy and sweet as ever and I was so happy with the way these two are progressing in their relationship. The paranormal side of the story keeps it very interesting and gives a twist to the type of mystery going on. Marcus is one of my favorite characters and he is back for the fun, even if it is unknowingly. You also get a better insight on Sophie and her fathers relationship before he passed away, which develops the character of Sophie even more making you love her even more. I counted down the days between Obsession, Deceit, and Really Dark Chocolate and this book and I will do the same for the next Sophie Katz mystery. The only thing I would warn about buying this book is the amount of money you spend at Starbucks, every time I read a Sophie book I have to have a frappuccino!

Southern Vampire Mystery Series

This is such a great series. I read the first 5 books in 3 days! Sookie is such a great heroine, she is strong and sticks to her guns. She is a much better heroine than Bella Swan( don't even get me started). She knows who she is and doesn't compromise for the men in her life.

The Picture of Dorian Grey

I loved this book!!! Lord Henry is brilliant. My favorite quotes come from him. There are too many to write. Wilde shows an age old lesson through this book, " Don't judge a book by its cover". You can be beautiful and have everything and be so awful and ugly on the inside. Even if you are the only one who know your ugliness will catch up with you. Also shows how someone can have influence over us if we are not careful.

Jane Eyre

One of the greatest books ever!!! Jane is such a smart empowered woman even in a time in history when women were looked down on, she knew who she was and always came back to it no matter what. I think everyone could learn so much from her. I found Mr. Rochester a little overbearing and I believe Jane was to good for him. But he redeemed himself late on. The beginning is a little slow just keep reading it's so worth it.

Northanger Abbey

A little slow to start, but over all a great read. I like the fact that in the beginning she is questioning whether novels are a waste of time or not. Since this is Austen's first novel it makes sense for her to be questioning it in her writing. I loved Henry Tilney's character and throughout Catherine was much wiser than fer friend Isabella, who was annoying along with her brother.

Breaking Dawn :(

confused pretty much sums it up words can hardly explain why i suffered through 754 pages for that. twilight got me hooked but i always felt the other 2 books were just bridges and actually werent as entertaining has the 1st but that they were necessary to lead us to this last final book that was suppose to be so great and the ending SM had in mind from the beginning. was even on board with the baby even though i am still confused on how she got preggers from a vampire that is pretty much stone with no life running through him. but i got past that since there was still 600 pages left to maybe explain and build on the plot. to my dissapointment that never happend leaving me stunned. the part from jacobs point of view was the best part of the book in my opinion atleast he brought some life and humor to the cullen house instead the boring "were vampires were beautiful". but then after that the book just sucked there was so much build up and no follow through. i have even excepted jacobs imprinting even though i would have rather had him end up imprinting someone else and what was the point of going deeper into leahs story if she was just going to drop it all of a sudden. dont get me started on the name renesmee either all i have to say is that apple was a better name, enough said. the whole thing with the lawyer was just a waste of pages and reading time. the action at the end was a let down and i pretty much didnt recognize any of the characters they were all so different and a lot of story time was wasted on all the vampires from god knows where that really had nothing to do with the story except to be "witnesses" and "fighters" for a battle that never happened.
